How can i shrink a wall to wall rug to get out wrinkles?

It needs to be power stretched not just a knee kicker.. The use of just a knee kicker it ll more than likely do it again. You ll need the room empty of ALL furniture to restretch it. The use of just a utility knife is very hard to use like this to cut carper.. It ll work but its hard. There is a special tool to use once you restretch it. Just a suggestion.. Have it done professionally ,since by the time you rent a power stretcher and go thru blades for a utility knife or have to buy one you may be able to have it done by an installer GLHow can i shrink a wall to wall rug to get out wrinkles?
You don't shrink it you have to rent a power stretcher from any rent-a-center or home depot. It's a mechanical device and it sets up in a few minutes. Once you have the stretcher set up you should start by unhooking the carpet from the tack strip around the outer sides of your carpet. Use the machine to get the rug tight and then re-hook the carpet on the tack strip. Cut all your extra off and be sure to have a sharp knife. You may have to keep changing the blade a few times. Leave enough rug to tuck back under the base board. Good Luck! How can i shrink a wall to wall rug to get out wrinkles?
You don't shrink it. You need to cut it smaller and then stretch it with a special tool that you can probably rent somewhere. the tool is self explanatory, it grabs the carpet and you hit it with your knee towards the wall (it has a pad)
You can rent a kicker and restretch the carpet. Not the easiet thing in the world to do if you havent done it before but you'll get the hang of it after awhile
You can't
Rent yourself a carpet kicker and tighten it up
rent a carpet stretcher or hire someone to do it for you, its hard on your knees
